An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race following interference just inside the final furlong when the winner, Axana (GER), ridden by Jason Watson, interfered with Bounce The Blues (IRE), placed second, ridden by Oisin Murphy.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Axana (GER)'s placing as the filly appeared to be holding Bounce The Blues (IRE) at the line, and the ground and momentum lost was less than the three-quarters of a length by which she was beaten.
Watson was suspended for 2 days for careless riding for allowing his mount to drift right-handed without timely correction causing Murphy to have to take a check off heels and switch left-handed.
