Permission was given for Waleyfa (GB) to go early to post.
An enquiry was held into the start of this race and the participation of Beautiful Dawn (RE), drawn 7, ridden by Luke Morris.
The rider and the Starter were interviewed and shown recordings of the start.
The Stewards considered that the filly was prevented from starting on equal terms as Morris didn’t have hold of his reins and was holding onto the side of the stalls with both hands as the start was effected resulting in him stepping sideways off the filly as the gates opened, they therefore ordered that Beautiful Dawn (IRE) be declared a non-runner.
The winner, Love Your Work (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Chelmsford, on 27 February 2025, where the gelding finished eighth of ten runners, beaten by 7¾ lengths.
It was noted that the representative of Darryll Holland could offer no explanation for the gelding’s improved form.
Love Your Work (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Kieran Shoemark reported that Born A Rebel (GB), unplaced, hung left-handed.
