An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong involving Roseabad (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Richard Kingscote; Praiano (GER), placed second, ridden by Andrea Atzeni and Tynwald (GB), placed sixth, ridden by Daniel Tudhope.
Atzeni was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left under a right-hand drive without timely correction tightening Roseabad (IRE) onto Tynwald (GB), which was checked.
The winner, Golden Flame (IRE), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at York on 21 August 2021, where the colt finished fourteenth of twenty-two, beaten 26¾ lengths.
Mark Johnston’s representative could offer no explanation for Golden Flame (IRE)’s improved form; the colt was routine tested.
