The Raceday Stewards enquired into incidents on the approach to the third last and when meeting the running rail again after the same fence involving Velvet Elvis, ridden by D.J. O'Keeffe, placed sixth, and Fairyhill Run, ridden by L. Quinlan, unplaced, where it appeared Velvet Elvis ran short of room and had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D. J. O'Keeffe stated that he had loads of room down the inner and then the gap was closed on him. L. Quinlan stated that his mount had jumped left and he was returning to the inside line and was not aware that Velvet Elvis was on his inner. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found L. Quinlan in breach of Rule 214, in that he had ridden improperly, and having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended L. Quinlan for four racedays
S. O'Callaghan, rider of My Design, trained by Declan Queally, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped poorly throughout.
