Permission was given for Bass Strait (GB), to go early to post and to be mounted in the chute, and for Gaazooo (IRE), to go early to post wearing a red hood.

Two furlongs from the line, WHO’S UR DADDY (IRE), unplaced, shifted quickly left-handed leaving the winner DANDY’S ANGEL (IRE), short of room and the rider having to check off the heels of Gaazooo (IRE), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Approaching 1 furlong from the line, Quercus Robur (GB), placed fourth, shifted left-handed away from the whip, hampering Skedaddled, placed fifth, and moved Highlight Reel (IRE), placed third, briefly off its intended line but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Quercus Robur (GB) (IRE).
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching four furlongs out, involving Saulire Star (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Sean Kirrane; WHO’S UR DADDY (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Madi Patzelt and Foreshadow (GB), unplaced, ridden by Ryan Sexton.
The interference was found to be accidental in that Saulire Star (IRE), which was running freely in a tightly packed field at the time, ran onto heels and ducked right-handed despite the rider’s best efforts badly hampering Foreshadow (GB).
Being a 10lb claiming apprentice, Patzelt was offered the opportunity to be accompanied but declined.
Following the race, Sean Kirrane reported that Saulire Star (IRE), unplaced, ran too free and hung badly right-handed.
Ryan Sexton reported that Foreshadow (GB), unplaced, suffered interference 4 furlongs out.
