An enquiry was held to consider interference on the run into the bend turning into the home straight, when the winner, Gladiateur Allen (FR), ridden by Chester Williams, interfered with Jeremy Pass (IRE), which was later pulled up, ridden by Harry Cobden.
Williams was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he presented his mount into an insufficient gap, causing interference to Jeremy Pass (IRE).
Jack Tudor, the rider of Buzz De Turcoing (FR), placed fourth, was also interviewed but was found not to be involved in the interference.
The performance of Jeremy Pass (IRE), which started second-favourite and was pulled up before the second last hurdle, was considered.
The representative of Paul Nicholls’ explanation that the gelding was never travelling on this occasion, was noted.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Jeremy Pass (IRE) failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, Jack Tudor reported that Buzz De Turcoing (FR), placed fourth, hung left-handed in the straight.
