Royal Scotsman (IRE) wore earplugs which were removed at the start.
Permission was given for Embesto (GB) to go early to post, for Epictetus (IRE) and Royal Dubai (FR) to wear a red hood to post and for Sean (GER) to go early to post wearing a red hood and be mounted on the chute.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong when Sean (GER), placed fourth, ridden by Saffie Osborne, interfered with Embesto (GB), placed fifth, ridden by James Doyle.
The interference was found to be accidental as Embesto (GB) shifted slightly left-handed as Sean (GER) edged marginally right-handed resulting in Doyle steadying his mount for several strides.
The winner, Royal Scotsman (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Newbury on 18 May 2024 where the colt finished ninth of ten, beaten by 24 ½ lengths.
Paul & Olive Cole’s representative’s explanation that the colt benefitted from the drop in class from Group 1 to Group 3 and the change in tactics of being ridden in a handier position today was noted.
Royal Scotsman (IRE) was routine tested.
