- Stewards Report
An enquiry was held to consider interference rounding the first bend involving For Peat's Sake (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Ben Curtis; Rockett Man (GB), placed third, ridden by Jack Mitchell and Global Response (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Hollie Doyle.
The interference was found to be accidental as Global Response (GB) was clear of Rockett Man (GB) when moving left-handed towards the rail, whereupon Rockett Man (GB) took hold of the bridle, running onto the heels of Global Response (GB), causing its rider to take a significant check which in turn impeded FOR PEAT’S SAKE.
Approximately 1 furlong out, Global Response (GB), placed fourth, hung sharply right-handed, before being quickly corrected by its rider, taking both the winner, Cahors (GB) and Blue Moonrise (GB), placed second, off their intended lines, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Jack Mitchell reported that Rockett Man (GB), placed third, ran too freely and Hollie Doyle reported that Global Response (GB), which started favourite and finished fourth, hung right-handed under pressure, in the home straight.
