An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately two and a half furlongs out involving the winner, Met Office (IRE), ridden by Dylan Hogan and Percy Willis (GB), placed second, ridden by P.
J.
McDonald.
The interference was found to be accidental as Hogan committed for a narrow but legitimate gap by angling his mount right-handed between Further Measure (USA), unplaced, and Percy Willis (GB), whereupon Percy Willis (GB) then edged slightly left-handed, resulting in the pair bumping on two occasions with Percy Willis (GB) becoming unbalanced as a result.
The winner, Met Office (IRE), appeared to show an improvement in form, compared with its previous run at Kempton on 27 September 2023, where the gelding finished thirteenth of thirteen beaten 86¼ lengths.
John Butler could offer no explanation for the gelding's improvement on this occasion.
Met Office (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, John Fahy reported that Dark Pine (IRE), unplaced, reared as the stalls opened and Marco Ghiani reported that Stonking (GB), unplaced, reared as the stalls opened and was therefore slowly away.
