Leaving the stalls, Tara (GB), placed fourth, jumped right-handed causing knock-on interference to Cyrus Kingofpersia (GB), unplaced, My Friend Woody (GB), unplaced, Galactic Glow (IRE), placed sixth, and Platinum Prince (GB), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Tara (GB).
The winner, Promoting (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Kempton on 12 September 2022 where the gelding finished last of seven, beaten by 17 lengths.
Hughie Morrison’s representative’s explanation that the gelding appreciated the Soft, Good to Soft in places going on this occasion and benefitted from the drop-in class and trip to Class 6 over 1m from Class 5 over 1m 3f was noted.
Promoting (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Ian Williams' representative reported that Typical Man (GB), unplaced, ran too free and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
John Bridger's representative reported that Essme (GB), unplaced, was unsuited by the going, which in their opinion, was slightly too holding on this occasion and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the filly failed to reveal any abnormalities.
