Something Grand is rated just 42 on the Flat and won this below average event, on her handicap debut. She is no star but should win again over the summer in either Flat or hurdles handicaps.

Winning trainer John Hanlon later reported "Something Grand is better on better ground and may go for a Flat handicap next."

Thats My Pet was in the process of running well when slipping up at Clonmel last time out and was well backed (20/1 in the morning) to win here. She was unlucky to get beaten on the line and should prove competitive in similar events, despite her lowly mark.

Stylish Bid is limited but ran well enough while Borouj, The Kiddo and Ballymac Grey will each find winning opportunities difficult to come by.

Favourite Mysheramour was easy to back and never looked like winning but did pass a few from the second last. This was a disappointing effort.

Non-Runners were Master Grand (cast in box) and the three reserves.
