Permission was given for Twig (GB) to wear a red hood in the parade ring.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving the winner, Twig (GB), ridden by Beau Morgan, and American Sniper (IRE), placed second, ridden by Philip Armson.
As a 7lb claiming apprentice, Morgan was accompanied in the enquiry by a BHA jockey coach.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Twig (GB)’s placing as the gelding was always holding American Sniper (IRE) with the winning distance at the line being a length.
Morgan was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift left-handed under a right-hand whip drive over a prolonged period when insufficiently clear of American Sniper (IRE).
Following the race, Jonjo O'Neill Jr reported that Piper Tom (IRE), which was pulled up, hung right- handed.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Time To Dazzle (IRE), placed fifth, lost its right-fore shoe.
