Permission was given for Mister X (IRE) to be mounted in the chute.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong involving the winner, Mister X (IRE), ridden by Luke Catton, Originally (IRE), placed second, ridden by Luke Morris and Deed Pole (GB), placed third, ridden by William Carson.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Mister X (IRE)’s placing as Mister X (IRE) shifted left intimidating Deed Pole (GB) slightly left-handed towards Originally (IRE) resulting in Deed Pole (GB) and Originally (IRE) to make brief contact on the run to the line.
Both Deed Pole (GB) and Originally (IRE) had appeared to lose little momentum and ground as a result of the interference to be beaten by a short head and a nose at the line, the Stewards could not be satisfied that Originally (IRE) and Deed Pole (GB) would have finished in front of Mister X (IRE) had the interference not occurred.
Catton was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed Mister X (IRE) to drift left-handed without sufficient correction slightly intimidating Deed Pole (GB), which in turn caused Originally (IRE) to be taking marginally off its intended line.
Following the race, William Carson reported that his saddle slipped on Deed Pole (GB), placed third.
