She has a little nick on her tendon now which I'm worried about to be honest and we mightn't see her for a while unfortunately. It was unfortunate what happened at Naas the last day (unseated rider at the first) but she came on from Sligo, she felt very well and I was very happy with her at home. It was more competitive than Sligo and she did it well today. John (Murray) is from Offaly, is based in Boston and is supporting me well. She is a nice mare for him.

I'd never ridden the horse but was talking to Simon Torrens (jockey) beforehand and he said he'd absolutely love the ground. . I let him bowl away out in front enjoying himself, set steady fractions and while the two lads took me on jumping the last, there was plenty of time finishing up the hill and he toughed it out well. Jumping the last, I knew I'd be second but he got upsides, he was gritty so I knew he'd get there.

Both horses are coming back from injuries and I'm delighted with the two of them. I thought they both had an equal chance. The winner is a right little terrier and he is owned by great people. He travelled very well throughout the race and at the top of the hill I thought he was still going to win. Then your man (Ocodango Boy) passed him, but he galloped to the line afterwards. We were lucky, maybe, but you never know what might have happened from the back of the last because he did gallop to the line. He deserved that, he has been running well without getting over the line. He has been placed a few times. We never actually thought he would go on real good ground. He has won on bottomless ground twice, but we ran him in Limerick on good ground and he finished third and actually ran real well. Adam (Ryan), who is leading him up there today, rode him and said he loved the ground. It is after working out well. We will give him a little break now as he's had a few races fairly quickly - Tramore or if there is a race back here. It was a long drive up but shorter going back!

Again I can't thank Gordon and the owners enough for letting me have the spin on him. He was brilliant. It was her first run back, her first run in a handicap but she had been going so well at home. I think Califets take a bit longer than other horses so we let her grow up and mature. I didn't think she'd win so easy so I'm a bit shocked. I'm so happy for the (Untouchables) syndicate who are local and from around Kilcock. One of the best horses I've had was Supreme Touch, who they owned, so when my brother-in-law Gordon (Foster) said he wanted to keep this mare in training, I said to get the old gang back. Jake gave her a fantastic ride. I've always liked him on the flat and I knew he would go into national hunt in a good way. I told him to get her into a nice rhythm and didn't panic or rush her.
