Review kilbeggan 1st May
Kilbeggan bumper winner Lucy Stone returned to the track for a decisive success in the Greville Arms Hotel Handicap Hurdle for trainer Michael Bowe.
A half-sister to the smart staying hurdler Sweet Kiln, Lucy Stone was never far off the pace and Tom Doyle committed for home approaching the third-last flight.
The 9-2 joint-favourite never looked like being caught and she was comfortably in command at the last before winning by four lengths from market rival Something Grand
Mick Darcy sent Save My Blushes into the lead a long way out in the Kilbeggan Maiden Hurdle and Paul Flynn's gelding gave favourite-backers no cause for alarm thereafter.< Tara Warrior gave chase over the last three flights but could not get near enough to challenge and Save My Blushes (7-4) eased away to score by five and a half lengths.
The Olivia Byrne-trained Lottoshan (9-1), a point-to-point winner, took the first division of the Cornaher Maiden Hurdle.
Prominent for most of the way under Robbie McCarth, she challenged Wheres Harry for the lead at the last and stayed on best up the run-in to score by two and a half lengths.
The second division went to evens favourite Headford Flyer who won a Clonmel bumper in March and finished second to The Bull Hayes in a Flat race at Tipperary when last seen.
Andrew McNamara always looked confident on Eoghan O'Grady's six-year-old, who jumped into the lead at the second-last and quickly put the race to bed, forging clear to beat Queen Of Cool by two and a half lengths.
Lady Fowler's One Back For Luck (20-1) got off the mark at the eighth attempt with a commanding victory in the Sean Hughes Memorial Mullingar Park Hotel Handicap Hurdle.
John Cullen swept into the lead approaching the final flight in the three-mile contest before clearing away to score by four and a half lengths on the mare's handicap bow.
