Review curragh 10th Jun
Jim Bolger must be looking forward to a bright future with Verbal Dexterity after he produced a superb performance on debut to land the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at the Curragh.
Kevin Manning was happy to track the early pace on the 8-1 chance, but once he asked him to win the race, the response was electric.
Taking up the running over a furlong out, Verbal Dexterity simply charged clear of his rivals, beating Sebastiano Ricci by nine and a half lengths.
Another horse who gave a good impression was Too Familiar who made it two wins in as many starts in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Race.
Johnny Murtagh's 11-4 chance looked in trouble at the furlong pole, but found top gear under Niall McCullagh to gun down Gasta and Verhoyen beating the former by half a length.
Murtagh and McCullagh made it a double when Khudha powered clear of his rivals in the Jackie Tyrrell Design Supporting Junefest Handicap.
The 6-1 chance cut out the early running, and though his lead shrank approaching the two-furlong pole, he then found plenty in the closing stages to bound 12 lengths clear of Eagle Spirit < Silverkode finished with a flourish to land the McDonnell's Bar Newbridge Supporting Junefest Maiden.
Joe Murphy's 6-1 chance produced a powerful turn of foot to mow down Snowstar and charge a length and a half clear under Gary Carroll.
A superb weight-carrying performance from Fozzy Stack's Son Of Rest saw him take the Junefest Handicap.
The 4-1 favourite was giving lumps of weight to his nearest rival Patuano but found plenty for Chris Hayes' urgings to score by a length and three quarters.
Brothers Joseph and Donnacha O'Brien teamed up to land the Brady Burns Insurance Brokers Supporting Junefest Handicap, as Tigris River (4-1 joint-favourite) took top honours with a facile win.
Willie McCreery's 14-1 chance Bloomfield made her belated debut a winning one when landing the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden under Billy Lee.
