The King Of Brega successful twice previously at Down Royal, again showing his liking for the northern air by recording a sixth career win in the featured Molson Coors Handicap Hurdle at Downpatrick.
The 11/1 chance jumped past the front-running Cairnshill at the last, and kept on really well on the run-in for Dylan Robinson.
The Henry de Bromhead-trained gelding had seven lengths to spare at the line over well-backed 8/11 favourite Ben Button who was having his first start for Willie Mullins after a ten-month lay-off.
Cairnshill couldn’t find any extra on the run-in finishing another two and a quarter lengths back in third.
De Bromhead is currently away on holiday while the successful BMW Partnership, two of which are from Drogheda, are also enjoying a break at present.
Robinson said, "I enjoy riding here. He travelled and jumped well and galloped to the line."
