Overseas raider Master Diver justified 5/4 favouritism to win the Kennedys Bar & Restaurant Apprentice Maiden at Dundalk this evening, providing jockey Tom Madden with a winning debut ride for leading English trainer Mark Prescott.
Master Diver, a son of Mastercraftsman, readily shook off the attentions of Twenty Minutes inside the final furlong before registering a comfortable three lengths win.
Afterwards Madden stated “Sir Mark left it up to me and we kept it simple and he was good in the end. He’s a fine big genuine horse, and hopefully he can keep on improving.”
Prescott's previous winner in Ireland was with Elysees Palace at today's venue last Marchs.
