The Sean Ahearne trained Nicole’s Milan landed a minor touch when landing the Madden Raparees Fundraising Handicap Hurdle at Fairyhouse today, winning under jockey Philip Enright.
The point to point winning son of Milan was backed from 40/1 this morning in to a 14/1 shot at the off and in the race rallied gamely to beat Dawn Raider by half a length.
Ahearne later stated “I was a bit disappointed with him at Limerick but he didn’t handle the ground there and it was a bit better today. He’s a tough stayer, and hopefully we will find another race like this for him. He’ll jump a fence some day.”
