Glen Princess (5/2) gained a second course-and-distance success over Gowran's mile today, as her trainer Johnny Murtagh and jockey Ben Coen combined for doubles in the Membership At Gowran Park Fillies & Mares Claiming Race.
The pair had earlier won the opening maiden with nose winner Greatest Drama and with Calyx-sired Glen Princess, scored much easier, defeating runner-up Makaiah by 5.5 lengths.
Glen Princess's other career win was gained in a course maiden in June and today Murtagh said “she likes it here but she’s been running in handicaps and it’s been tough going for her. This looked a winnable race if she ran to her form and Ben said she travelled very well and quickened up well.
“She came here to be claimed and has won two races for us now. She looked impressive there today and I’m sure somebody will take a chance.”
There were no claims made in the 10-runner race.
