Mount Colah and Noel McParlan get over the last

Mount Colah gave odds-on backers a major scare with a bad last fence mistake, but the best horse in the Listed Thurles Racecourse Supporters Club Chase deservedly recovered to score.
The Noel McParlan-ridden Mount Colah was disputing the lead two out with Arnaud when a danger was eliminated with the latter's departure.
It looked a case of just safely negotiating the last then, but Mount Colah showed little respect for that obstacle, to hand the chasing Letter Of Credit just a sniff of a chance.
That well-backed second favourite did his best to bridge the gap, but in the end failed by a length and three parts.
Coincidentally enough, the Thomas Walsh-owned, and Jerry Cosgrave-trained (a first victory at this level for the Katesbridge, County Down operator), Mount Colah also made a bad mistake at the last when landing his beginners chase at this venue last January.
He is now due to return here next week for the Kinloch Brae. (AM & EM)
