Well-backed Glenagle Bay (morning 2/1, returned 5/4f) made a winning debut at Dundalk today, landing the Book Online @ DundalkStadium.com Maiden to get trainer Joseph O'Brien off the mark for the new season.
Making a belated debut aged four, the Gleneagles gelding led under two furlongs out and stayed on well to beat State Actor by a half-length.
Today's meeting was the fourth flat fixture of the new season and following the race winning jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle said “he's a lovely big horse, travelled well into the race and ran around a little bit up the straight but it was very straightforward.
"He definitely has run really well and, I think if I had something to take me further, he would have been even more impressive. He was rolling around a little bit in the last furlong, so there should be plenty of improvement."
