Fourhometwo swept home under Shane Kelly to give Johnny Murtagh another winner in the seven furlong median auction maiden at Galway.
The 6/4 favourite motored up on the outer entering the straight and took the lead inside the final furlong. He kept on more than well to hit the line two and three quarter lengths to the good. Dame Dandy took the runner-up prize at 5/1, and was a length and a half clear of third-placer Get Noticed which she did at 80/1.
Shane Kelly said: “He’s a horse that would appreciate a bit better ground, but he got through it well. He’s hardy and has improved from his first run.
“I’d say there is more improvement to come from him. He showed a good attitude and was probably in front plenty soon enough. He’s learning all the time and we like him.”
Fourhometwo had made a very promising debut in second, behind a 1/4 favourite, at Gowran Park last month.
