Equation Of Time got a lovely run up the rail to land the spoils in the Speedy's Bars Moyvane & Ballylongford Handicap at Listowel.
Shane Foley tucked in behind the leaders in the mile contest before getting his run a furlong-and-a-half from home.
The Garvan Donnelly-trained gelding, sent off 10/1 in an opening looking race, hit the front at the furlong pole and stayed on for a two-and-three-quarter length success.
The winner, twice successful at Dundalk for connections, had been well held in a strong looking contest at the Curragh last time.
“Everything went to plan. He had a lovely draw and Shane gave him a lovely ride,” said Donnelly, who had his arm in a sling having suffered a fall on the gallops recently.
“It's a long way down for us so it's lovely it worked out. He's won a couple at Dundalk and I always thought he would transfer that to grass. He's done it today so I'm delighted.” Al Fahidi was sent off the 4/1 favourite but could only finish sixth.
