Black Zambezi maintained the excellent run of trainer Peter Fahey with a second consecutive win, both at Kilbeggan, today when landing the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Handicap Chase under jockey Roger Loughran.
The son of Kalanisi won his beginners chase at the track last month and today made a winning handicap chase debut when beating Shake The Bucket by seven lengths.
Black Zambezi was Colm Murphy’s last runner as a trainer on October 1, 2016 and indeed the Champion Hurdle winner recommended the horse join his current trainer Fahey, who was today recording his sixth winner this month.
Fahey is on a well earned break but after the win Loughran said “he was a different horse than the last day and he's getting the hang of it."
