Emperor rules supreme after gutsy effort
Ottoman Emperor and Ben Coen beat Dublin Journal

Ottoman Emperor rallied gamely to secure a follow up success in the Gowranpark.ie Handicap for Johnny Murtagh.
The Excelebration colt opened his account at Cork in April and was dropping back slightly in trip in today's extended nine furlong contest.
Ben Coen bounced out in front on the chestnut but he was niggling along turning for home. Dublin Journal and Indian Sioux challenged early in the straight with the former taking a narrow lead passing the two pole.
5/2 shot Ottoman Emperor found plenty for pressure, however, and edged ahead again at the furlong marker, going on to record a length-and-a-quarter success over the 6/4 favourite.
“He's still babyish, it's only his third run and he'll probably get further,” said Coen.
“He wasn't do a stroke in front but when Kevin (Manning) got past me he rallied well.
“He did it well at the line. I think a mile-and-a-half will suit him. He still has loads to learn but I like him, he has a nice attitude. Once he gets it together he'll be nice.
“He loves that ground, he's a good ground horse and he flicked off the top of that well.”
