The Willie Austin trained Emcon caused a minor 14/1 upset to win the Low Low EBF Mares Handicap Hurdle at Listowel today, under jockey Kevin Sexton.
The daughter of Vinnie Roe raced with the pace throughout and having moved to lead at the seond last flight, eventually stayed on well to beat Curragh Na Gold by a length.
Afterwards Austin remarked "she probably needed that run."
Emcon has now bagged a bumper, maiden hurdle and handicap hurdle win to her name.
