Johnny Murtagh's Eddystone Rock enjoyed a step up in trip at Wexford as he got off the mark at the ninth time of asking.
Initially he raced in fourth under Connor King in this extended mile and one maiden before taking closer order into third entering the home straight.
He unleashed his finishing burst to sweep past Rainfall Radar (13/2) in the final 150 yards to win going away.
The winning margin was recorded at two and a quarter lengths. Multiculture (14/1) was a further half a length back in third.
“He deserved that — he's a nice horse,” Connor King said.
“There should be plenty more to come from him during the year.”
Eddystone Rock had been placed in five of his previous eight appearances.
The going at Wexford was changed from good, good to yielding in places to yielding before this race.
