Dha Leath made a winning debut for Gavin Cromwell in Division ll of the Every Irish Race Live On Racing TV Handicap at Limerick.
A winner at Navan on her penultimate start last season, the Mehmas filly generally races over further so did well to cope with the drop in trip here.
As it turned out, she needed every yard of the mile, only just getting up close home to deny Plunkett
The latter got a fine ride from Ciara Flynn who continues to catch the eye. Overheer did well to take third for Joe Murphy and Gary Carroll.
Ben Coen said; "if was her first start back this year and I thought the trip might be on the sharp side and the ground might be a bit quick. She is a hardy filly though and while I was flat out early on, she loves passing horses.
"When I passed the first one, she kept picking up and got there in the nick of time. She will be a fun filly for the summer over a mile or 1m2f. She is good and genuine."
