The Peter Fahey trained Deputy Marshall gained his first win at Galway today, winning the CCTV Venue Control Maiden Hurdle under jockey Andrew Lynch.
The son of Pushkin was, as in his norm, held up in rear for much of the race before making good progress inside the final half mile. On the run-in, Deputy Marshall rallied well to eventually edge past Solar Heat and score a half length win.
The winner carries the colours of owner/breeder Chris Kelly, from Kilrainey and Fahey was at Leopardstown where his Alton Bay contested the featured November Handicap.
