Bukhill (11/4) credited jockey Eamonn Fitzgerald with a fourth career winner today, landing Downpatrick's McGrady Financial Novice Handicap Hurdle for trainer and employer Peter Fahey.
Held up behind the leaders, the son of Hillstar led rounding the final bend and eventually held on by a half-length to beat Starman
Fitzgerald, whose four wins have been for trainer Fahey and half came on Bukhill, reported “Bukhill has been brilliant for me and I'm delighted to get the spin on him, he's a smashing horse.
"He travelled away there like a dream and jumped everywhere, just got a little bit lonely up the straight and then went on again when the other horse came to me.
"They didn't go a mad pace and he was able to travel in his comfort zone. He had a nice bit of speed to quicken on and away he went. He really tries hard and is very genuine."
"Thanks a million to Peter and Ber (Fahey) and all the team at home and to Mr (Peter) McCarthy for putting me up on him again.”
