Bronte gets off the mark over fences
Bronte Bay produced a game front-running performance to get off the mark over fences in the beginners chase at Ballinrobe.
Keith Donoghue got a good response from his mount when asking him to go about his business before the second last.
He stayed on gamely in the closing stages to score by a length-and-a-quarter from Serve Time
The Paul Flynn trained gelding was sent off 7/2 joint favourite with third placed Farringdon continuing the success of market leaders in every race on the card.
"I thought he'd never win! He was the top rated horse in the race so deserved to win. He's just slow" said trainer Paul Flynn afterwards.
"We'll keep him for the Troytown as he goes well around Navan. I probably shouldn't be running him at this time of year but I wanted to get a win into him before the good horses come out.
"We took the blinkers off him today and he seemed to jump much better. They weren't really working for him."
