Ainsi Va La Vie had to work hard for the win but she got the job done in the bumper that concluded the Galway Festival.
She gave Willie Mullins a treble on the card and 12 winners for the week.
The seven-year-old mare went off 4/7 favourite from 4/9 as punters rushed in to back Peter Fahey's Vocarium from 11/2 to 3/1.
Vocarium led into the final furlong and Patrick Mullins had to go for the whip on Ainsi Va La Vie who responded and collared her rival in the final 150 yards. She posted a length and a half victory.
Willie Mullins, who was crowned the leading trainer at this year's festival, said: "Small field races can often be the roughest. I think it knocked her confidence a bit but the second horse is good and we will see in time the merit of the form. She could go for the Listed bumper at Gowran in October.
"It's been a great week from the first evening with Aubrey winning on Whiskey Sour. Riven Light has been a revelation and ran well again today. It's been good to see the Flat horses running so well all week."
