Reports in which Fort Vega (FR) was mentioned
Fort Vega has plenty of options
Strong-travelling Fort Vega (6/1) made it back-to-back victories when holding on in the Royal Ascot Trials At Naas Handicap. Sun 21st MayVega strikes late in tight finish
The Sheila Lavery-trained Fort Vega stuck his head in front close home to prevail in a tight finish to the opening three-year-old maiden at Gowran Park this afternoon. Wed 03rd MayEmpty Metaphor makes all under McDonogh
Empty Metaphor, handed a mark of 87 after running well as a 100/1 outsider in the 2,000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown, made all under Declan McDonogh in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (C & G) Maiden. Sat 22nd Apr

I was a little bit worried, being a Lope De Vega, whether the ground would be a tad fast for him. We decided to let him take his chance because it was such a good race for him. I'll talk to John (Lavery, brother), I know where he'd like to go. They love having runners at Ascot and I'd say the Jersey could be an option. John is in Portugal, so I'll talk to him and we'll make a plan. He's in the Guineas next week but you are jumping from a handicap to a Group 1. I think the weather is to be very warm as well, if it came up dead soft I might chance it. He's a gorgeous horse, you can put him anywhere and do anything with him as he's just so easy.

After race at Gowran Park Wed, 3rd May, 2023 (1st)
Robbie said he was a little bit on top of his head over seven on that ground. A mile on that ground would be perfect. He’s a real nice colt but is still not anywhere near the finished article. He has some smart entries (Irish 2,000 Guineas) but I won’t lose the run of myself and we’ll sit down and decide where to go. I think like a lot of Lope De Vega’s he does need a bit of ease in the ground and that would be paramount. He’s a gorgeous, straight forward colt and you can do anything with him.
