Alamein got his chasing career off to the best possible start when putting in a fine round of jumping to take the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners Chase at Fairyhouse. Sat 25th FebRisk thrown out on technicality
Well-backed favourite Jennies Jewel came to grief at the fifth in the Free Festival Upgrade Ticket Offer Hurdle and in the end it was the similarly well-supported Sadler's Risk (9/2 into 7/2) that passed the post in front. However he was to lose Punchestown's third race in the steward's room on a technicality. Wed 31st DecGamble landed as Walsh gets Quest up

I'm delighted with that. Hopefully the ground out there is safe enough.

After race at Galway Wed, 31st Jul, 2013 (1st)
He's a good horse . last night was good (Busted Tycoon) but today was exceptionally good. He was very good. He boiled over at Cheltenham and probably shouldn't have been in Punchestown after that. He's not over-big but what he is is very agile and nimble. You'd like he's a horse that'll be going to Cheltenham again next March.

After race at Leopardstown Sun, 27th Jan, 2013 (1st)
that was a super performance and he deserved it. He won his point to point very well in the spring (at Templemore) and met a very good horse at Navan (Champagne James) before being beaten fair and square at Christmas. He has come back and done that very well though. I think he is quite decent and is a real good actioned horse and should be better on better ground. I'll have a chat with John (Breslin, owner) but I think he's plenty good enough to run in the Cheltenham Bumper. I'd prefer to keep him as a novice hurdler until next season.
