Clonmel Thu, 24th Oct, 2024  Marlpark He has been disappointing up until now as we thought the world of him from the get-go. I bought him from Will Delaney as he is a half-brother to both Kilcarry Bridge and Kilashee (stablemates) and is out of a half-sister to Hear The Echo. He is a proper little horse and there's no reason he won't go forward now. Shane gave him a peach of a ride and really switched him off in front. He was running a huge race when falling at Fairyhouse - I'm not a huge fan of those new hurdles and I think he would have finished third then. What level this horse is at I'm not sure, but he'll probably go for a rated novice next.

Limerick Sun, 20th Oct, 2024  Size Five it wasn't a pretty watch and he gave us a scare but Oran thought they went awfully quick early on. He had intended to sit fifth or sixth but he didn't travel the best and the ground might have been too quick for him. He went on to do the job though and that's what you want. You'd think the handicapper was wrong by giving him 17lb for winning at Perth but looking at it today, he was probably right. I thought he had been harsh on him but at least he has come out and won again. Oran is in the yard all the time and is a top-class lad to ride. His instructions today were 'you know him better than me, so ride him the way you want!'

Tramore Thu, 10th Oct, 2024  The Blaggard He got his name because he is a little bit quirky. He's learning away and he's a nice horse going forward. It's nice to see the form of the Listowel race working out, but he still has a lot to learn. He's coming along nicely (physically). It’s nice because we invested in a lot of stores last year and two of them have won maidens this year. He was only a €2,000 store.

Kilbeggan Fri, 6th Sep, 2024  Presenting Lad I was worried about the ground, it was a wee bit slower than what his best would be on,. It needed to dry as much as it did. He's won on slower but to be at his best he needs quick ground. We've had that much rain all summer you wouldn't know what way the weather was going to be. We could have a dry autumn as we've had one of the wettest Augusts we've ever had. He's fresh and well so we'll keep him going if the weather lets us.

Downpatrick Mon, 26th Aug, 2024  Calahill I thought maybe 2m6f is his trip but thought they weren't getting home out there today, so hoped it might work out in his favour (over 2m3f). He's a very important horse because he is the lead horse at home, he leads out all our young horses and gave Connor Bowman, who led him up today, his first winner at Ballingarry (point-to-point, in May). The plan had been to go back point-to-pointing but he's after winning now so we'll keep him for the track.

Tramore Fri, 16th Aug, 2024  Miss Lia That's Tiernan's first winner as a fully-fledged conditional. I asked him to come work for me a couple of months ago and he said he would at the end of the point-to-point season. He is a very nice guy and has so much experience over hurdles and fences.  . We'd a lot of handicap winners last season and I felt that unless I got somebody with a bit of experience and with a claim, that I was going to struggle big time. I'm really lucky that I have Tiernan and Conor (Owens). Conor is flying but wouldn't have the experience of Tiernan to ride over a fence yet. I think between the two of them I have a very good team of claimers and I'd be hoping that one will grow with the other. They are a big asset to me. . This is David's first horse with me. He is an amazing owner and huge supporter of Irish jumps racing, he puts a huge amount in. It's great to have a winner in his colours and I'm really pleased.  

Tramore Thu, 15th Aug, 2024  Presenting Lad He was busy for a period last year and it didn't seem to bother him either. That's his third run in around 23 days. I was a bit apprehensive about the close proximity of each run but the entry for this was small and it was worth a chance. He loves that ground and Phillip was exceptional on him. He was to go to Downpatrick for a race rated up to 116 but he might be too high for that now unless the handicapper leaves him. He only won by a neck so in theory he shouldn't give him anything.
