Gowran Park Sat, 15th Feb, 2025  Classic Getaway It was a good performance, he has been improving all season. Danny was very keen to stress that the three fences in the straight made a big difference to him because his jumping brought him into the race without any effort and then he had that final kick to go and win the race. It was nice for Cheveley Park to have a Red Mills winner.

Limerick Tue, 28th Jan, 2025  On Your Way I had intended staying over fences after his run at Cork the last day but when I was making entries, I saw there was only a small entry for this so stuck him in. He ran away with Philip here during Christmas and tried to do the same today but Sean (O'Keeffe) seems to be able to handle him and manage him better. Philip has had bad falls from him, so he is Sean's ride if he wants him. . He'll run in whatever pops up next.

Thurles Sun, 19th Jan, 2025  Willitgoahead Maybe we bumped into a very good horse in Limerick but he caught us by surprise then as he had a good blow and it was the first race he had all winter. He had been winning his races easily until then and we were expecting to do that today. He came to himself this year, has really matured and is a good ride and jumps really well. I think he is now getting down to racing and can improve again. He loved the better ground. We are dreaming about this lad for a while and hopefully we will now head on to Cheltenham and take our chances. We have options though and could wait for Aintree, but we'll see. I think this might be the year for him as I can't see a top-class Open horse coming back: the best one I've seen is Big Interest, who won a point to point for me but needs soft ground. If the ground came up good, we would be fancying our chances at Cheltenham.

Navan Sun, 15th Dec, 2024  Blaze The Way I'm delighted with him. He won his bumper and was placed over hurdles. I think he's a stayer and the last day we kind of rode him the wrong way in a better race. I've liked him for a while and I wasn't surprised to see that. He probably has his level, I'm not sure, but I'm charmed to have a winner here today. We'll get him back home now and talk with the two boys (Brian and Tom Groarke). We won't go again quickly with him, there might be something at the Thyestes meeting for him. We'll see how he improves from here.

Thurles Thu, 21st Nov, 2024  Turbo I was hoping and thought he'd run well but thought the distance - especially around here, might be short for him. He got his ground today as he never really got ground like that. He had a little fracture in a hind leg which held him up for a while but is lightly raced so we brought him back. We'll see how he comes out of this but there's a race for him in Fairyhouse soon. We have a few horses coming along for the track at home.

Gowran Park Sat, 9th Nov, 2024  Noble Talent When we saw the entries, we said we'd run if Danny was happy to ride him. Danny rang me the other day and walked the track and said he'd like to ride him. I have to thank him for this. JJ (Slevin) and Danny both said he should do well over fences. Danny walked this on Wednesday and told me the ground was lovely, in Mallow it was too quick for him. He needs three miles but we were quite happy with that. He'll handle a good bit softer than this. Jumping is a big strong point with him. He's a funny little horse, Danny pulled out wide as I don't think he likes being bullied inside in a big bunch. We had a cute man riding him. Have you ever seen a jockey to keep improving so much? He's brilliant. He works for small trainers really well because he puts a lot into it. JJ was suggesting to me that we should be looking at the Tim Duggan, he said that after Sligo. Danny said the same, that we should be looking at a decent handicap. He was thinking we could go out to three or three-and-a-half miles with him. He's in good order and fences seem to be improving him. He's something to look forward to.
