Fairyhouse Sat, 22nd Feb, 2025  Spindleberry She was very impressive for only her second run over fences, taking on an experience mare like Bioluminescence,. I'm very pleased. I loved the turn of foot she showed between the last two to put the race to bed and then under pressure to throw in a good jump at the last. For a mare with only one run over fences I thought it was a hell of a run in a Listed chase. We'll look at the WillowWarm Gold Cup, the Grade 1 for novices, here at Easter. She seems to like this track. She's entered at Cheltenham but that might just come a bit soon after today. We'll look for other options but the race here at Easter would look the race at this point in time. She loves this track over hurdles, and over fences, and I always like keeping a horse to where they like running. Paul was happy enough that she'd stay much further. That was a good test of stamina today. She had looked like a mare with a future and now she's showing us that she has a future.

Naas Sat, 8th Feb, 2025  Scalpnagoon I was a bit worried about the ground, but it was a good performance. He showed a good attitude and is a nice horse. He’s a big strong horse that will jump a fence in time. He’s qualified now for the final of this series at Punchestown and knowing me, he’ll probably run again before then. Michael (Hanrahan, owner) is lucky and anything he sends to us seems to win: you can’t beat a bit of luck.

Thurles Sun, 19th Jan, 2025  Scalpnagoon He had a nice run the last day when he stayed going well and I was a bit worried about the ground today. He's a big horse who will jump a fence in time.

Clonmel Tue, 3rd Dec, 2024  Kp's Ladyofknock I'm 18, from Dingle and have no background in racing although I'm 100 metres over the road from the Kennedys (champion jockey Jack and Paddy). Jack used to ride horses by my house every day of the week so got the bug from there and they have been very good to me. I spent a season flapping and another season point-to-pointing with Sam Curling, who was very good to me. She goes well at home and I thought she had a good chance running off a light weight. She did it well in the finish. It was a surprise although we don't have her very long. She was fit, healthy and well when she came, but came (with) it a bit of an attitude and didn't delay too long in getting her out (to run) as I didn't want her getting bored with the change of scenery. She worked very very well in two bits of work for me and Tom rides her out at home, so knows her well. To be fair to Peter, he said she has loads of ability but needed to be sweetened up. She might go back to '0's' and 'P's' now but, if we can keep her genuine, she might win again. She had a light weight and Tom is good value for the 7lb claim, so we tried to make things as easy as we could for her. He is a great lad, works hard and you couldn't get better than him and is a good rider too.

Limerick Tue, 19th Nov, 2024  Rut Daniels Today was the plan and it worked out a great. He had been running on ground which was too quick but isn't a bad horse for the future and will be a staying chaser,. This is his ground as he is a winter horse and we'll see what we do next as he is for sale - he'll win plenty races. It is great to give Ryan a winner as he comes in twice a week and works hard, like the rest of us he just needs confidence. He said that Cian (Quirke) was going to make the running and go hard so around the inside course he decided to keep it simple: he didn't want to chase him but wanted to keep tabs.
