Clonmel Thu, 17th Apr, 2025  Party President He’s a little bit excitable and has a lot of growing up to do but is an improving horse. Maybe we’ll look at Killarney or let him off for a month as he’s done a lot in a short time. I’d be looking forward to him as a chaser. This lad jumps a fence well.

Naas Thu, 3rd Apr, 2025  Party President I thought the ground would improve him, but I didn’t think it would improve him that much. He’s not a bad horse, he’s a little difficult. Adam broke his hip off him here the last day he rode him, before the race. He’s a little excitable and he has a lot of growing up to do. He’s a fine big horse and he’ll do more than that. I’m not saying he’ll be going to Cheltenham or anything but he’s going to do more than that. Seeing that improvement on the ground we’ll keep him going.

Gowran Park Wed, 2nd Apr, 2025  Thatwilldoso She was ready to start off today and the ground was drying out which we didn’t know. Jack’s claim helped, but it was a weak race. She is a grand filly going forward and can go up in trip as well and I might get the jump licence out to give her a spin over hurdles because she’s that type. The syndicate (ThatWillDoSo Syndicate) are from Clare and I got her through Sean Grassick who recommended her.

Leopardstown Sat, 1st Feb, 2025  Colcannon We always thought he was fairly useful. It was unfortunate what happened last year with Finn (Tegetmeier). He was point three light, which is nothing, and he went and won by nine lengths (disqualified at Punchestown). When he went to Punchestown and the mare (Sixandahalf) beat him, we felt he was gone at that stage. Then he had a bad run in Thurles, when we shouldn’t have run him as it was too soon. He was a shell. The whole intention after he won his bumper was to go jumping with him, but the schooling just wasn’t going the way I wanted it to go. I felt he was going to take a run or two over hurdles to get to where we want him. I said at Christmas he’d run but he won’t win because he won’t jump well enough and his novice season could end up with him winning late on. I’d say we go with a different plan. We decided we’d run him in the bumper at Christmas, but the day before we had spots in the yard and he came up with a couple of spots so we had to take him out of that and then here was the next one. Unfortunately, he’s not qualified for Cheltenham but I think he’s okay for Punchestown, so we’ll probably plan for that. If there is something in between, at Fairyhouse, we’ll see.
