Brushwork gets up close home in a thriller
That was grand. I was interested to see how he would cope, dropping him back to five. They went a really good gallop which was probably a big help as we know he stays six. I left him a little bit short today just to keep him a little bit fresh. I would imagine he would improve a little off this run. Whether we come back here or not, I'm not sure, I'll have to discuss it with David (Spratt, owner). He's not just an all-weather horse and long term we could look at something like the Scurry with him. He'll have a couple more runs before then. He's very tough, very genuine, and he'd go through the pain barrier for you. He has the speed for five furlongs and stays six, that's kind of what you want for the Scurry so that might be the long-term plan.
Ajax Tavern bags another Dundalk claimer
He did it nicely. We claimed him here in December and kept him going over Christmas. We only kept two or three going at home. I'm delighted that he put it to bed fairly well. I'll get profit on him if he's claimed, which is fantastic. Dean did a lovely job on him and hopefully he'll get a few more opportunities now. He's with me a year-and-a-half and he deserves to get some outside rides. He's got a good head on him and it's a good start for him.
Levins & O'Connor double up with Prisoner's Dilemma
He did that well. I was a little bit concerned stepping up two grades from his last win but he's obviously improved a little bit. We left him nice and fresh for today so maybe that is the way to have him. I'm a little bit surprised because I thought he would take the run in that grade to get him back in the groove. It would have been a sterner test than his previous run so he surprised me in a nice way. We'll take him home and see if we can find another race for him up here. I don't think the handicapper can be too hard on him and he should be able to get back into a 50-85 race.
Ellabella again shows her liking for the sand
I'm delighted she got another one. She's had a couple of close finishes here, she was beaten by a head and won by a head. At least we came out the right side of it again. She's a genuine, tough filly. We had a couple of issues straightening her up, she used to hang a bit, but she's running a bit straighter now which helps. We'll keep coming back up here and hopefully we get another one out of her. She wouldn't necessarily strike you at home as one that would be for Dundalk but all her best form is up here.

Kingslayer provides McNamara with 46/1 double
It's brilliant to get a double, I've only ever had one other before. He'd been working very well since he came to me and I was surprised he didn't run better the last day. What he did there is what he's been showing he could do at home. It's nice to see him pull through like that. I'll have a chat with the owner but it's a bit like the other one, if it's happening for him here we might as well come back for another go.
Veteran Munfallet wins again for the Coakleys
That was brilliant. Ross was riding him when he was home on a holiday, he took me off him. He was riding him out every morning with our other horse and he actually revitalised him. Normally he rides out on his own and having company revitalised him. We knew he was in great form and the question was whether he would see out the trip. After Ross getting a winner on Monday and Tuesday the pressure was on me!. That's the horse's tenth win and he's won from over six furlongs to nearly a mile-and-three so he's been brilliant. It's a pity his joint-owner Arthur Connick didn't come today because of everything at the moment but it was great. He is owned by Ross's two grandfathers, his mother and a friend.
