He did it very well, we've always liked him. When we bought him he was tiny, he looked like a little ball of a two-year-old but he just kept going through growth spurts. We gave him time, kept doing a bit and then letting him out for a couple of weeks. The patience has paid off. I think they think a lot of Kevin Coleman's filly (Annie Edson Taylor), so I'm delighted. We had a nice bunch of two-year-olds, a couple of them were just turned out last week as they are more three-year-old types. They had a run, ran promisingly so we let them out early and will get them back in for the spring. It's been a slow burner.
Kennedy up and running with first winner on Glamorously
Mulvany full of praise for Joyce after Rathbranchurch makes breakthrough
He's been second four times this year. The owners are local so I'm delighted for them as they stuck with the horse all year, it's great to get a win with him,. We made a mistake as I thought he might get the seven in Fairyhouse, as it's a handy seven, but he doesn't seem to get that trip. This trip here is ideal for him. He's entered at the Curragh on Saturday and we might have to go again. Wesley is well worth his claim, I reckon he's the best apprentice in the country. Things just didn't work out for him, but they are now. There is a long road to go yet, but he's probably getting a bit more firepower now with Johnny (Murtagh) than when he was with me. He puts a lot of work in. That's 15 on the board for me this season and they are all newish horses. Hopefully we can keep it going.

Fratas seals her four-timer and a brace for Mulvany and Joyce
She's tough. I knew today, bringing her back in trip, that you'd have to stay. The first two went some gallop and I thought they might run out of petrol, but they didn't,. She showed her toughness the whole way to the line. That's her fifth win since she joined me and you wouldn't know where we'd go after this. The handicapper can't give us too much anyway as she's only won by short margins all the time. Hopefully it will be onwards and upwards. We'd be hoping we could get a bit of black-type with her. The lads, Raymond and Martin, that own her are lovely fellas and they are very good to everyone in the yard.
Solar Breeze powerful up in trip at Navan
I'm delighted. She's been finishing off her races really well but has been slow to break so I stepped her up in trip. Robbie (Colgan) had said to step her up and I think at that pace she was much more in her comfort zone. Billy was delighted with her and said he wouldn't be scared to step her up further again. Basically, I've been running her over the wrong distance!. She's a lovely filly. She's in the horses-in-training sale in Goffs and I'll try and get another couple of runs into her before she goes.
Kearney steers Patrick Street home for Martin
We've been knocking on the door for the last few weeks and it makes such a difference to get your head in front. When they are running well, you have a chance. Jack and me go back a long time. When he was a 12-year-old he started riding out for us and he always had great hands. That's his second winner for us and he's got a bright future. I think he has one more winner before he loses the 7lb. He's a smashing young fella.
