Peshkova gains valuable maiden win
She's a nice filly but she's just had little hold ups all year,. She liked the surface. She ran well in Cork on good ground in the middle of summer and ran a lovely race in Navan the other day when she was finishing off with a view to coming here. We said then 'if she wins she wins but if not we'll come here anyway'. It worked out. She's in on Friday night again in a 45-65, she might be out of that category after today so we'll have a look at that. She's also in the sales at the end of the year so we'll see what happens. She did that nicely and she's a nice filly with a good pedigree. Five wouldn't be her ideal trip, I'd say six or seven would be her ideal trip. It's good to win a maiden with a filly with her breeding.
Excelecius just prevails in thrilling finish
That's lovely. The pessimist in me didn't think we'd done it,. The good news is that he qualifies for a 25,000 pound Book One bonus which is brilliant and was the whole idea of today. He hated the ground in Galway. He's been consistent all summer but has been growing and you can see he is a fine big horse. We'll give him a day or two to get over this and then we'll geld him through his break and give him a good break. Hopefully he'll grow into a fine horse. We think most of our two-year-olds are for next year. We have a bunch of horses that are going to be proper three-year-olds next year. It's been a real work in progress this year and we're delighted to have got as many winners as we did. Thankfully we're finishing on a bit of a high.
