Carroll goes to plan b with Hopkins
He's a typical one of ours in that he improved for the run. The plan was to take a lead today and not to do the donkey work but you always have to have a plan b. He's a listed type of horse and he'll improve again for that. He'd be better on quicker ground. We've been struggling to get our two-year-olds out this year but patience is paying off.
Lordan & Alkazim live up to their billing
He'll go back into Group company now. He's always shown loads of pace. Six, seven or a mile is no problem to him.
Worth the wait for the Monday Night Syndicate
We've been trying for a while and we always thought there would be a day in him. I'm delighted for the lads (the Monday Night Syndicate). There's seven or eight of them in it and they're all friends and neighbours of mine. That grouping includes the publican from Gormleys in Garristown. They've been in horses a long time . they've never worked out . so it's great to get a winner for them.
No stopping Bendzoldan
It's hard to win three races and she's just improved. She was rated 70 as a two-year-old and maybe she's just starting to get back to that form.
Caponata another cracking filly for the Weld team
21/1 Naas double for Lyons & Carroll
We're delighted to get a winner for Mrs Patino (Anamoine Limited) as she's a great supporter of the yard.
Hughes pleased with Conor's progress
He was good in Roscommon (won his maiden there 16 days ago) too. He might go over a bit further the next day. He's a nice little horse to have and he might run on the flat at Galway.
