Ned gets punters off to the perfect start
That is a bit of a weight off my back. The second horse is a good horse and it took a good horse to beat him the last day (Ally Cascade beat Urano at Thurles). Maybe Dessie's horse (Bright New Dawn who beat Ned Buntline last time out) is very good but my fellow didn't jump well there and 2m 2f is too far for him. Paul said the ground was a shade soft for him. We think he is a good horse and hopefully he is. He will improve a good bit when he learns to settle and jumps more relaxed. He is still diving a bit at hurdles. He will go for a novice hurdle somewhere now and it's nice to get a win on the board.
Anonis scores on hurdling debut
I am delighted. He was green as I thought he would be. He had a problem last Christmas but he came through it well and we didn't get that schooling into him. We were just trying to get him back on the track. He schooled well since Cheltenham. He is a nice horse. He is good and tough. He will have another couple of runs over hurdles before we decided where he will go. I'm delighted for Barry as he said to run him today even if he wouldn't win. He is a good horse and is a three miler so that run will have sharpened him up today. That was only his third run. He came from Germany and wasn't broken until he was four.
Blood Cotil does what is expected
He is a nice sort. I knew he would stay and the ground would be no problem to him. The one worry coming here today was whether he would settle as he pulled very hard at Fairyhouse. We thought he had learned a lot from his first run and he jumped great today. Paul was happy with him and he wasn't afraid to go on with him. He set him down at the last and he galloped on strongly on the run-in and he didn't have to get serious with him. Hopefully he is at the top end of 3yo's in Ireland and he will probably have just one more run before March and that might be in the Grade 1 here.
Shariyan lands touch on return
I'm absolutely delighted as he's been so frustrating,. He's had so many little things wrong with him but he was good today. We'll see what the handicapper does now. He probably wouldn't want it any softer. We've been a long time waiting and please god he's ok after as he's very fragile. I would have been disappointed if he hadn't have won but it was a competitive handicap so you can't be too confident.
Katie & Jacksons make a great team
That was great. We know she is well handicapped now, we didn't know that beforehand! . She had some very solid runs and Katie gave her a great ride. Every jockey that rode her said that she needed better ground but Katie said that she handled it well today. She is not EBF qualified which rules her out of all the mares races. We might go back for a novice race now or the mares hurdle if Willie decides to go the other way with Quevega.
Ligeonniere claims second Grade One
He got a bit tired but the ground is heavy,. He settled well over the first and had a great jump. He jumped the second and third well and then piled on the pace. He missed the third last as Paul wanted an easy one and the horse kept going. Because he's so free Paul is not inclined to pull him back and fiddle one. Paul said he was idling turning for home . I was wondering was he getting tired. He's a big strong horse and we'll look forward to the Arkle back here in February.
Moyle Park another for Harry Kelly
We thought he would do that and it is super that he has. We didn't come here for the good of our health!. He was working extremely well. He was only bought in June at the Goffs Land Rover Sales (for €10,000). We think an awful lot of him. That was only his second time on grass.
