Treacy lands 1st festival win for red-hot team
My children all thought I was mad running her — they all said she wanted soft ground. I didn't think she'd get in — she was number 12 on the ballot list — but when she got in we said we'd run her. It's great for Ryan — he comes down and rides out for me one day a week. I'm delighted for him to get a Punchestown winner. The only time she was in front was at the line, and she probably needs three miles. I've been running her on the wrong ground as all the family want it good. She smashed a pelvis badly in a point-to-point last year and we are lucky to still have her. The vets did a great job and it's all thanks to John Hyde.
Mullins makes further inroads with 1-2
Classic continues on the up with Grade 1 win
Camilla (Sharples, leading up) said here that he'd win and she was right. Gordon prepped him really well. He was a good winner at the Cheltenham festival and he's stepped up to Grade 1 company and done it well. He's a fantastic horse to win a Grade 1 and win at the Cheltenham festival — it's great placing by Gordon. I'm surprised he won but he's a nice horse and he's going to be a nice chaser. He keeps trying and he seems to like that better ground.
Brilliant John makes history at Punchestown
He never was travelling like he was in Cheltenham and it was probably one race too many.
The world is Fayonagh's oyster
She looks very good. We don't gallop her a lot at home as she's very buzzy. She does all her work on the track,. Jamie (Codd) bought her, he rode her and so big thanks have to go to him. We've schooled her at home and she's very good at jumping. I expect we'll put her away now and keep her to go jumping hurdles. If I have my way that's what she'll do anyway. She's fairly honest and she tries for you but she's a buzzy little thing. A summer's grass will do her the world of good.
No stopping Potts Tizzard and Power
When we first had him he wasn't getting up the gallop — he then had a wind operation and he still wasn't getting up the gallop,. The last three weeks though he was good — quite good in fact. He jumped well there and he looked a class machine again. We don't know where it comes from sometimes. Viconte Du Noyer bled at Cheltenham but we were in that spell then. Whatever we did in the run up to Cheltenham we couldn't win a race. It must have been a low-grade bug — unless I forgot how to train for a month!. He's dropped down the handicap but he travelled and jumped.
Codd almost there after Punchestown double
Then to come back and win a bumper at Wexford before stepping-up and winning a graded race here — it's just a fantastic bit of training. Jonathan has a small operation but if anybody looks at his strike rate it's unbelievable. Whenever he runs them they usually win. He's been good to me too. I had a great run the whole way. I just wanted to keep her out a little bit so that she'd breathe and relax. Once I turned in and got stuck into her she hasn't stopped. It was more idling than anything because she kept finding. She's a smart filly. She's very good because she's still very inexperienced. It's Larry's (Murphy, owner) decision whether or not she'll be sold here tomorrow evening at the sale. In an ideal world someone will buy her and leave her with me. She just works with another horse or two at home. Jamie said he had to get after her a bit but she just idled in front.
