Condon strikes again with French Quebec
She's a difficult filly to read in the mornings in that she's very relaxed and she doesn't show a whole lot. Her last run worked out well (third to the subsequent Phoenix Stakes heroine La Collina) and Johnny liked her a lot and said that there is more to come. She appreciated the mile and maybe we'll go for the Flame Of Tara Stakes (at the Curragh on Sunday September 11th) now and give her a chance at some black- type. She had a little set-back since her last run (3rd to La Collina 74 days back) and she should come on again from this.
Painted Fingers pinches it off Indian Scout
Zaralabad gets his reward a year on
He obviously comes right at this time of year and he was unlucky here last year. He likes tight tracks and fast ground. He was drawn high in the amateur handicap at Galway (down the field there) and they went no pace there - he needs a true run race. I'm not sure where we'll go from here. The good handicap at Naas in October where he was fourth last year (behind Gimli's Rock) could be a target for him again.
Cooper has a sweet winner on Quiet Thought
Eagle's Pass shows the youngsters how it's done
He might run under his penalty at Galway on Sunday (he is in the Guinness Handicap Chase at Ballybrit).
Big Jackpot carryover as One Fine Morning scores
It's nice to have a winner . especially for that man. He's a real good looking horse but he has been a bit disappointing. He likes good ground and that seems to be the key to him.
Law Rebel eventually makes the breakthrough
He's been knocking on the door and he did it well there. He is getting stronger all the time. He'll go hurdling now and as Eamonn (owner Eamonn Phelan) had him ready to run in a point-to-point as a four-year-old, he has plenty of jumping done.
