Lady is Ultra competitive in nursery
She's a bit tricky in the stalls and gets a bit hot beforehand. But the minute the jockey gets up on her she lets out a big heave as if to say thank god. She is keen to get on with the race but is just difficult beforehand. She's finished for the year now. The ground was a worry but Joe Foley told me the Dandy Mans' go on soft ground, and all her family handled soft. She should have no problem with a mile next year, and hopefully she will mature mentally and not prove as difficult.
Amber strikes Gold with stylish win
I'm delighted with her as I thought I was being a bit mean on her running three times quickly. She flew through that ground, and Billy said she handled it a lot better than he thought she would. She has a quick, choppy action. Billy didn't have to hit her, she carried him lovely and enjoyed herself. I haven't been hard on her as she's so small but she's improved herself. I don't think there is anything else for her and she'll start of early next year.

He likes it here and he's in the sales tomorrow. He's a grand little horse who has won on fast and soft ground, and is very tough. The handicapper gave him a fair hike when he won before but as usual he was right.
Evason beats Bel in a thriller
Kevin said he's a tough horse and he broke smart today. He dwelt the last day at Tipperary and was always out the back but came home well. Kevin said he travelled well today and handled the ground. He's tough and he battled to the line. He could be a stakes horse for next year. It's nice for the owner who had Galatee with us a few years ago that won the Blue Wind Stakes (in 2006).
Cristal scores in decisive Fashion
I'm delighted for Jim McDonald the owner/breeder. He absolutely adores her and when she came into us last January she had a coat like it was the summer. He does his horses really well. There are no races for her the rest of this season. We took a chance with the ground but she handled it well. She is by Jeremy and will want a mile at least next season. We always liked her but she was just a bit weak and whatever she's done is a massive bonus as she will strengthen up over the winter. That's another winner for Colin. It gets him a little closer but it's going to be tough.
Diesel powers through the mud
He really loves soft ground and stuck at it well. When he won at Limerick earlier in the year the ground was very bad, and an ease in the ground makes a big difference to him. He's going to the sales next week so it's nice to get another win with him before he goes.
Life's a Beach for record-breaking O'Brien
She's a difficult ride as she can be a bit keen. She relaxed really well today, and when things go right for her she's a good mare on her day. Hopefully we might get her placed in a stakes race.
Berry leaves it late on Jack
He's a decent little horse, and he couldn't do a lot more in Listowel where a good horse beat him. We freshened him up after that, and he timed it to perfection. It was a good performance. He's in the November Handicap (at Leopardstown on November 3) but I doubt he'll run as it comes a bit too quick and he needs more time between his races. He could run over hurdles as well and we'll tip away with him over the winter.
