Sivota impresses in Punchestown opener
I'm delighted for Emmett [Mullins] it was a great win. The drying ground was a big help to him. We will probably pursue the handicap hurlde route. The owners are from Roscommon so i'd imagine Galway will be on the agenda. He will mix it over hurdles and on the flat.
Treacy Rocks home on Gimli's
He's a different horse on that ground. He had a bit of a break after his Leopardstown run. We decided this was the race for him, I won it last year with No One Tells Me and if he's half as good as he is i'll be very happy. I don't think he really needs the blinkers, I just think they help him a concentrate more and he kept on really well there. He'll probably go for a flat handicap, we'll step him up to a mile and half and he's probably one that could go to Galway as he's won around there before.
Rigour wins for O'Grady
He has been a fantastic model of consistency and he has won his last four novice hurdles but was just beaten in his fifth., . If he could get his jumping right he could be a very good staying hurdler next year. He deserves to stay hurdling for another season but i'll wait and see what the syndicate tells me.
Planet Of Sound land Guinness Gold Cup
I'm chuffed to bits. He's always been a very nice horse but he's stayed on very well today. That was his first time over three miles but he definitely got the trip no problem. He just made one mistake down the far side but apart from that, he jumped great. He's always looked very good, but at Cheltenham (in the Ryanair) he choked so we put a tongue tie on him today. He's been the forgotten horse today and I couldn't believe what price he was.
Weld/McNamara win Champion Bumper
Tactics still work, the plan was to dictate it and ride to the rail and Robbie [McNamara] executed that plan so well. He was a winner from a long way out. We'll leave him off for the Summer now and when he comes back he'll make an outstanding dual purpose horse.
Mullins doubles up with Polmar
We've waited almost two years for the good ground and that was the difference with him today. He's a big galloper and he just couldn't handle the soft ground. We will keep him on the go as long as the ground remains safe.
On The Fringe takes last at Punchestown
He's a nice horse for the future. They just went so fast but John Thomas used his head. He won his point to point at Lisronagh three weeks ago, Nina rode him and thought he was brilliant. We decided to give him his chance with more experienced horses today but we never thought he'd win, we'd have been delighted if he finished in the first five or six.
