Jack too strong for novice rivals
It's tougher ground out there today than he's ever ran in so we weren't sure how he'd handle it,. I suppose it's the same for them all. He handled it well enough and went about his business okay. He just jumped his hurdles very high and maybe that was the ground. Normally he flies the top of his hurdles and gains lengths. Probably because of the deep ground he was just jumping over them rather than flying them. He may go for a novice hurdle at Tipperary in a fortnights time. He's finished as a novice then so he'll have a break and then we'll look at Christmas for him.
Fullback springs Kerry National shock
Before the race I thought Questions Answered had a really good chance and I really fancied him. He ran a fabulous race to finish second,. That was a bit out of the blue in fairness and Faltering Fullback came back to what he once promised. He won a novice chase here before and was a very good horse but just lost his way. The three miles and bottom weight just helped him and he came back to form at the right time. It's been a great race for me. We won it twice with Ponmeoath and he's back today. This is his sixth run in the Kerry National and his ninth year to run here which is a great achievement. He didn't run a bad race (in eighth).
Corner bounces back to winning ways
It's great to get a win at the festival in Listowel,. I actually bought him off the jockey's uncle Paddy Condon, from Tallow and that's his fifth win now. We're all getting a great kick out of him and he's the family pet.
Veale edges thriller
I thought he was going to win going to the last but he just got a little tired in the ground. Hopefully he'll come on for it,. It was a great performance from the horse and it's brilliant for the man who owns him (John Breslin). They are great guys and are just home from America. They come home every year this time for the all-Ireland final so it couldn't have worked out any better. He's a nice horse and he'll be a far better horse on better ground. Hopefully, touch wood, he's a good one.
