Valentina Lady returns with a win
She is a nice mare and is a winter type. She won a Naas bumper and I suppose she was after underachieving since. She stumbled in Naas and hurt herself. It looked very little but it turned out to be sinister enough. That's why she is in now. It's great that the ground is safe and you could run anything on it. I'm just delighted that she has won her maiden hurdle now and won the E5,000 bonus as well. Off her rating (of 116) she was entitled to win it and it was a super ride from young Jordan. He settled her early on and he was just very good on her. That was the winning and losing of the race, the way he just switched off. They went quick early and he just sat there and didn’t panic. She loves that sort of ground with an ease in it. Hopefully she is well-handicapped and will stay sound.

Batcio scores in fine style for Walsh & O'Callaghan
He was well-entitled to do that. He was second in a valuable race at Leopardstown, Adrian Keatley's horse (Drumconnor Lad) beat him. Then he fell the next day at the second last when he was still in with a chance. He ran well with Aubrey at Navan and might have been a bit keen at Tramore the last day. They went such a good gallop up front that when he got to them, they were empty. He wouldn't want the ground any quicker than that.

O'Connor completes 34/1 double at Wexford
She is exceptionally tough. She is not able to stay with them early and she takes her time. The trip today is what won it for her with the ground being reasonably good as well. She likes good ground and needs the trip to allow herself time to get into the race. It's a pity that Cathal wasn't able to ride her but fair play to Mike, he gave her a great ride. He kept her well out wide where the better ground was. We are delighted with her.
Nolan doubles up with Jeremys Jewel in the bumper
We think she will improve a good bit from that. When she was beaten first time we were disappointed but she was too keen. Barry was sorry he jumped off wide today for the better ground. He said it was the worst thing he done because she had no cover. He was dreading that she was too keen again after being so long off. He said she has enough pace for the flat, so we will take a look at things like that, maybe over a mile and a half. She seems to love that ground and I'm just delighted now that she has gone and done it. I probably wouldn't run her on ground quicker than today. It's drying out so thanks be to God they put as much water as they did on it. She is owned by a very loyal owner in Phil Byrne. We bought her off of Aidan Fitzgerald off of a piece of work. She was injured after her last run and has been off that length.
